Interrogation of the Experts - Veterans Edition
Back when I was working on a project called Succeed After Service, I sat down with a few British veterans to record their stories about swapping the forces for Civvy Street. The project never really got off the ground, but these conversations have lived on the old site for years — so I’ve pulled them together here. They’re straight-up, no script, sometimes a bit rough around the edges… and at the end of each chat, I asked them to pull up a bollard and spin me a dit — a funny story to close things out on a lighter note.
Note on the intros: Each interview kicks off with about 40 seconds of footsteps, generators and a disguised voice growling “tell me everything you know.” Back in 2010, I thought that was cool. These days I’d keep it to five seconds — goldfish attention spans and all that. But hey, it’s part of the vintage charm, so stick with it and the good stuff starts right after.
